Hamasaki is a cozy grill restaurant located near Shimbashi. it has only four seats, so you can occupy by yourselves. The chef cook all the dishes in front of you and serves them very quickly. I liked the oyster gratin and fried rice with crab meat. Of course, the main dish, or grilled Wagyu beef, was very delicious.

Sengyoya

Sengyo-ya is a typical Izakaya, specialized in sea foods. It used be opened only for dinner, but it recently opens for lunch as well. I think they need compensate decrease of revenue, dropped due to the pandemic. I think most restaurants haven’t fully recovered yet even though Covid-19 will be downgraded as a common infection diseases. Some people have changed the pattern of night life in Japan. And also, those who retired from restaurant business haven’t coma back.

Speaking of Sengyoya, it provides fresh sea food lunch at reasonable price as above. It costs only 7 USD for this quality lunch. I think many international tourists will be surprised at this reasonable menu. It might cost triple in foreign countries.

Sankyu

Sankyu is located at Monzen-Nakacho, the town for Fukagawa Fudoson. Monzen means the front of temples. Fukagawa Fudoson is the Tokyo annex of Narita-san, one of the largest temple in Kanto region and known as the temple worshipped by Ichikawa family, one of the most famous Kabuki family. It is located near Narita Airport, so some of you may have visited.

Last not but least, here is the Sankyu special as below. It is like BBQ. We didn’t know how to cook, so my friend grilled them piece by piece. We should have grilled and fried all together though.

Monzen Nakacho has been flourished since 1703 when Fukagawa Fudoson was built. It is historical town with many authentic shops and restaurats. Sankyu is one of them. It is a self- grilled foods restaurant and you can cook Okonomiyaki, or Japanese pancake, Takoyaki, or octopus dumplings by yourself. Takoyaki is not easy to cook for beginners. Actually, I cooked it for the first time as above. The point is to turn over the food material at the best timing to make the perfect spherical shape. An octopus dumpling looks like a ball but the iron-shape is hemisphere, which means a half-ball shape should be completed first and another half- ball is shaped later. Instead of octopus, I put clams because this area is famous production of clams. Fukagawa-meshi, or steamed rice full of clams, is a specialty in this neighborhood.

Sushi Noike

Noike is located in Yanaka of Taito district in Tokyo. The town is very popular among international tourists for its authentic atmosphere. It is adjacent to Tokyo University of Arts and many students who aspires to be artists or musicians lives in this neighborhood. This sushi restaurants have been loved by those people. Its specialty is Anago, conger ell as above. Its texture is so soft and melty that you don’t have to bite. Its sauce perfectly matches with sweet white meat. Sushi set usually consists of a variety of sushi materials, but you never get tired of these eight pieces of Anago.

IKEA strawberry fair

Sometimes, I have breakfast at IKEA restaurant. It provides a variety of seasonal menu of strawberry now. Strawberry pancake was very tasty with fresh chees cream and strawberry sauce topped with pistachio. But I couldn’t miss its signature, or cinnamon roll. Only strawberry pancake and cinnamon roll were too sweet, so I added boiled sausage to harmonize with them. That’s was perfect in terms of morning desire, ignoring the aspect of your good health.
